  • Perform daily check-ins out to the University farm to check the health status along with hay and water availability of eight of my advisor's cannulated steer (castrated male) cattle.
  • Restore misplaced cannulas into steer if removed by the animal.
  • Administer vaccinations and dewormers on the steers when needed to maintain health.
  • Record daily check-ins in the record book.
  • Facilitate grading of both quizzes and exams for advisor's courses.
  • Proctor exams for the courses if the mentor was not present.
  • Update the advisor about any issues or concerns about the steers at the farm and/or course-related matters.
  • Instruct undergraduate students on the proper way to handle livestock in a Livestock management course.
  • Train undergraduate students on handling the advisor’s steers daily.
  • Collect rumen samples to be analyzed in the lab.
  • Recommended the university to high school students wanting to pursue a degree in Agriculture at a recruiting event.
