I am an experienced educator with strong focus on nurturing young minds and fostering supportive learning environment. Adept at curriculum development, classroom management, and differentiated instruction, ensuring every student thrives. Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and adapt to evolving educational needs, ensuring consistent, impactful results, and always looking for ways to better my teaching practices to ensure the best educational and growth opportunities for my students.
In July 2020-May 2021 I moved into a second grade teaching position and learned new standards, effective classroom management skills appropriate for the age I was teaching, and I was able to effectively communicate with my peers to create meaningful, engaging lesson plans that would be differentiated for all students' needs.
In July 2021 I took on the role of team leader as well as became a teacher mentor. I also took on the inclusion class, as well as worked with many students who required tier 2 and tier 3 instruction through different interventions. I also had experience with working with higher achieving students; therefore, I was able to differentiate for acceleration groups on top of lower performing groups.
This was my second year as an educator and faced a lot of challenges with being moved to a new school a few months into the year, due to higher student numbers and not enough teachers. Within a week I was able to create new relationships with students and staff members I had never met before. COVID played a huge role in creating different challenges, but I was able to adjust and teach virtually for my students.
As a first year teacher I learned how to develop engaging lesson plans for a heavy EL demographic. I also learned and implemented my classroom management strategies to foster a positive learning environment.
