Participate in Area Safety Council meetings, Labor Relations Committee meetings, Space allocation meetings, and monthly quality meetings. Schedule monthly training sessions to include facility safety as well as BEV hazards.

Reported to the Plant Manager - coordinated activities with the Plant Manager and Staff at the Chalmette facility calciner. Routine internal contacts include Senior Management, Sales, Raw Materials, Logistics, Technical, Operations, and the Laboratory. External contacts include terminal managers, agents, and marine transportation organizations.
Supervise Production Control function and related activities at the Chalmette Terminal including terminal operations personnel, green coke unloading and storage, demurrage, data integrity, sampling, system performance, finished product storage and shipping within ISO 9001 standards.
Responsible for supervising the Chalmette green coke and calcined coke tank storage areas. This includes coordination of operators, ensuring standards are met for maintenance and housekeeping of the raw materials pad and the calcined tank storage areas.
Coordinated with the Production Coordinator to achieve efficient forward planning of the green coke unloading and storage, calcined coke transfers, storage, and shipping.
Responsible for Facility Security Officer (FSO) duties for Chalmette facility.
Coordinate with USCG & incoming/moored vessels regarding changes in MARSEC levels.
Load Barges and Vessels with calcined petroleum coke as per customer specifications.

FEDERAL MARINE TERMINALS (FMT)

Supervise and coordinate all stevedoring activities of up (but not limited) to 70 non-union hourly employees engaged in the loading and unloading of vessel cargoes as well as daily terminal activity.
Spearheaded the hiring of new hourly employees and for providing recommendations regarding employee advancement, promotion or disciplinary issues.
Determine gear and equipment to be used during barge loading and unloading operations. Have knowledge of gear (wire slings/hooks/shackles/spreaders) working load limit (WLL).
Responsible for gear inspection, disposal of damaged and outdated rigging and communicating with Operations Manager regarding replacement of gear.
Supervise and direct all hourly employees to ensure that all operational procedures and safety protocols are being adhered to.
Work with FMT's Safety Manager to promulgate and enforce company safety policy as well as OSHA regulations.
Coordinate drug testing when required.
Track and manage container yard capacity as well as assign refrigerated containers and ISO tanks to plugs.
Professionally interface with Port Authority, CBP, USDA, USCG, Chief Mate/Vessel Master, customer representatives, and Ship Agent.
Regularly communicate and coordinate with customer and/or customer representatives regarding their cargo concerns and any special requirements.
Assign hourly employees to positions to efficiently carry out the planned operations for the shift.
Track and document the hours worked by all hourly employees.
Prepare reports for stevedoring and terminal activities. Distribute operational reports as directed.
Enforce safety policies and issue 'citations' as necessary for safety violations.
Investigate and prepare accident and incident reports as well as OSHA LS202 reports.
Assist the Terminal Manager with any special projects as needed.
