My duties include: Daily care of patients (passing medications, collecting vitals, changing dressings, transferring patients), collecting lab specimens (urine, stool), inserting and removing urinary catheters, managing and administering medications/flushing through gastrostomy tube as well as insertion of peripheral line, administering intravenous, subcutaneous, intramuscular, and intradermal medications, obtaining blood sugars via finger stick, removing sutures, changing wound dressings and assisting with wound vac application. In addition to inserting rectal suppositories, administering enemas, and preforming digital disimpaction. Provide suctioning and albuterol, ipratropium, and budesonide nebulizer treatments in addition to carrying out lab, diagnostic, and treatment orders—scheduling follow-up appointments and transportation for residents. Provide patient education as needed for compliance, understanding, and safety. Act as a patient advocate and provide educational, emotional and psychological support to patients and family members.
My duties included: Daily care of residents (toileting, bathing, changing bed linens, transferring, passing meal trays/feeding), applying compression stockings/ACE wraps, as well as collecting lab specimens (urine, stool). Additionally, responding promptly to the patient's alarm/needs, documenting and reporting their condition to the nurse while cultivating relationships with residents to ensure their happiness and well-being.
