I graduated from Hālau Kū Mana, a public charter school in Makiki in 2022. I grew up learning the importance of our culture and preservation. Environmental advocacy was a large part in my up bringing. At the age of 14, I was accepted into the PAAC (Pacific and Asian Affairs Council) program with the University of Hawai'i and traveled to Bali with a youth group to learn the ways of their indegenous peoples and about their evnironment and sustainability. Now as an adult I am a dedicated volunteer with a rich history in community advocacy, notably with Pu'uhonua O Wailupe, excels in cultural sensitivity and environmental awareness. Demonstrates exceptional teamwork and communication skills, effectively engaging in meaningful projects and fostering community engagement. Achievements include significant contributions to preserving Hawai'i's cultural heritage and environmental conservation efforts.
Every 2nd Friday of the month our family cleans the tomb of King William Charles Lunalilo who was the 6th king of Hawai'i. His tomb resides on the grounds of Kawaiaha'o church, and our family has the responsibility to clean his tomb every month. A very humble and important job that we take very seriously. We are also descendants of this specific king.
Pu'uhonua o Wailupe is a small community advocacy group that protects and cares for iwi kupuna (ancestors bones) located in the caves above Wailupe (also known as 'Āina Haina).
We are in the process of purchasing the land from the city in order to protect these caves from any further development.
Graduated from Hālau Kū Mana as their 2022 Valedictorian.
