In addition, fulfilling duties as an on-call emergency management officer, responding to major incidents in the county. Also handle PIO duties for the York County Hazmat Team and the Child Abduction Response Effort (CARE) Team. My article, "Reducing 'Mixed messages' Concerning Public Safety in the Wake of the University of Idaho Murders" was published in the Winter 2024 edition of the FBI-LEEDA Insighter magazine and also in the Ohio Police Chiefs magazine.

Performed crisis management and preemptive planning for the York County Commissioners and all of the departments under their purview. Handled internal communications, including a monthly electronic newsletter to employees. Acted as public relations counsel for commissioners. Wrote and edited content to create a consistent and positive organizational image and message. Served on special committee to facilitate the county's first-ever strategic plan. Managed website copy and social media posts and pages. Devised and oversaw communication strategies for specific projects and long-term implementation. *Note: I was requested by county commissioners to serve in this capacity until the full-time position could be filled.
