  • Reports directly to the Associate Dean of University College and leads the strategic and day-to-day academic advising operations of University College.
  • Directly supervises six professional Academic Advisors, an Academic Success Coach, and a Success Navigator; Indirectly supervises Graduate Assistants and Undergraduate Student Workers.
  • Manages the hiring, training, and onboarding processes for new professional Academic Advisors, Academic Success Coaches, Success Navigators, and Graduate and Undergraduate student workers.
  • Manages caseload assignments for the advising team; coordinates the New Student Seminar scheduling and staffing needs; maintains a caseload of University College advisees from admission through their major declaration.
  • Leads the assessment of University College advising initiatives.
  • Directs University College Advising team efforts related to student engagement initiatives, including Navigate campaigns, progress reports, alerts, add/drop and registration processes, and summer freshman advising efforts.
  • Provides academic advising for University College students, including transactional advising about course selection, developmental advising about personal, career, and major choices, intrusive advising for at-risk students, and academic coaching.
  • Helps University College students understand and successfully negotiate University processes, procedures, policies, and regulations.
  • Manages and coordinates the University College freshman enrollment processes, including block scheduling, registration, and GNED199 planning.
  • Collaborates with Admissions to facilitate on-boarding of new First Year and Transfer students.
  • Collaborates with the Academic Colleges and Departments to facilitate the transition of University College students to major programs of academic study.
  • Leads in the development and delivery of New Student Orientation and Family Orientation programs; Collaborates in the design of the New Student Seminar for University College students
