• Youth Home Inc, Residential Treatment Counselor, 08/2003, 09/2006, I was responsible for providing care for teenage patients at a residential treatment center. I assisted in therapeutic supervision of at-risk youth (residential and day treatment) in a school setting and often in a residential house on campus. I also assisted teachers in providing a comfortable and safe environment for learning. I participated in a multi-disciplinary team, kept accurate records of the youth behavior, kept constant contact with family, caseworkers, and probation officers, and implemented strategies for the clients to finish the program.
• Scan Services, Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Lay Therapist/ Internship, 01/2003, 05/2003, Responsible for instructing young mothers in parenting classes the skills needed for parenting. Responsibilities included: teaching, training, and conditioning young mothers on different techniques to care for their children.

I held an internship with Arisa Community Mental Health. I performed supervised individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach.   During this time I had an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge, helping skills, and personal/dispositional integration in clinical counseling settings during the Internship experience. During the internship, I was able to treat clients with mental health disorders under the supervision of the clinical director. I met with clients to provide counseling and assist with helping find resources in the community.  Also, I was able to monitor client progress through sessions, monitoring treatment plans, and clinical debriefs with the clinical supervisor.
