• Work on the ambulance as an Emergency Medical technician. Duties include providing patient care, transporting patients, and driving the ambulance. As An EMT I am able to perform certain emergency medical procedures as are needed to maintain a patent airway with adequate breathing and cardiovascular circulation in accordance with protocols and guidelines until the patient can be transferred to an appropriate destination for advanced medical care. Interventions include cardiopulmonary resuscitation, defibrillation, controlling severe external bleeding, preventing shock, body immobilization to prevent spinal damage and splinting of bone fractures. Also assist in restocking the ambulance and performing daily station duties.
