Work History

Reading and Math Specialist Teacher

Burlington Community School District
08.2022 - Current
  • As Reading and Math Interventionists in our K–4 building, we work with students across all grade levels who need additional academic support. By designing targeted, individualized interventions in both literacy and math, we provide focused one-on-one and small-group instruction that helps students gain confidence and close learning gaps. Our role goes beyond direct instruction—we monitor progress, communicate growth, and collaborate with teachers to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Model Classroom Teacher: Implementing the CLM

PBIS - Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports

  • A curriculum pilot serves as a real-time test of instructional programs to determine their effectiveness in meeting learning goals. Through the CLM workshop framework, I implement new teaching strategies, collaborate with the literacy coach, and model best practices for colleagues across the building and district.

Grimes Elementary School

  • Design and deliver an elementary curriculum that meets students’ academic, intellectual, and social needs while fostering a safe, organized, and engaging classroom built on independence, collaboration, and effective instructional strategies.

PBIS - Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports
