Cookie Cart provides teens 15 to 18 years old with lasting and meaningful work, life and leadership skills through experience and training in an urban nonprofit bakery.

The first stop for Cookie Cart teen employees is the Bakery Program — the very foundation of youth employment training.

In this hands-on, job-training program, I was taught essential employment skills. The Bakery Program took a creative, engaged teaching approach to equip me with fundamental job skills: -responsibility to manage my work schedule and myself with appropriate workplace behavior and language –collaboration, to take direction from managers, and work together with peers -initiative to complete tasks and problem solve.

• Served as a reliable and dependable team member, consistently completing assigned tasks and supporting fellow crew members as needed.
• Greeted customers entering store and responded promptly to customer needs.
• Welcomed customers and helped determine their needs.
• Managed high-stress situations effectively, maintaining professionalism under pressure while resolving disputes or conflicts.
• Demonstrated strong multitasking skills by managing multiple tables simultaneously without compromising service quality.
