• Assist the Electrical Journeyman is the various aspects of line maintenance, repair and construction,
• Install both aerial and underground line apparatus, digging holes, padding ditches, operating utility vehicles
• Installed, maintained, repaired, and tested equipment for electricity generation and utilization.
• Inspected electrical systems, equipment and components to identify hazards, defects, and repair requirements.
• Operated lower controls on line truck, verify proper grounding of line truck, prepare pole mount transformers and assist with installation.

● Receives training under the close supervision of Supervisor and Journeyman Lineman

● Performs training for skilled work in the reconstructing, maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment, including substation, distribution systems, transformers, lines and cables.

● Performs skilled work in placing and removing cross arms, stringing wires, tapping wires, repairing cross arms and wires, placing and replacing insulators and setting transformers.

● Attending mandatory training sessions on products, methodology and safety.

● Basic knowledge of electrical principles, AC/DC concepts, and the care and testing of tools and equipment. transmission and distribution systems (overhead, underground, transmission, substations, meters, and transformers) and MISS Utility drawings and procedures.

● Demonstrates the Ability to properly lift and carrying heavy loads, knowledge of effective traffic control techniques and proper cable splicing techniques.

· Responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing overhead within the scope of certifications in a safe and efficient manner within accepted operation standards, approved policies, and procedures.

· Knowledge of electrical line work to safety construct and maintain electric transmission and distribution lines.

· Climbs poles of all types and performs jobs required of lineman off the poles, including changing out of arms, transformers, and conductors.

· Drives and maintain company vehicle and operate necessary equipment to frame and set poles, lay wire, connect, and disconnect services and tree trimming.

· Maintains current knowledge of equipment, RUS specification, OSHA regulations, mapping systems and Cooperative Policies.

• Acquired valuable hands-on experience with various types of wiring systems by assisting experienced electricians in diverse installation projects.

• Maintained a clean and organized worksite to improve productivity and reduce risks of accidents.
• Utilized various power tools, such as drills, saws, and jackhammers, to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
• Installed drywall, insulation, windows, doors as part of constructing energy-efficient spaces for clients.
