  • I had asked the recruiter if this job involved loading or unloading and was told that it did not. They do not have an actual office in Fargo so most everything is done via phone or ELD. I was unaware that I would be required to fill the trailer up with heavy push carts and secure then in place every night. I had to go through a lengthy hiring process to get this job and I wanted to keep it. I asked for help at the loading dock but was told that it was my job job to load the trailer so I did. in doing so I reinjured my shoulder. I quit this job so I could fully recover.

  • Obtained an ethanol sample from tanker trailer
  • Unloaded ethanol at off-loading terminal in Canada
  • Drove empty tanker back to Fargo, ND
  • Test the ethanol for purity
  • Kane was bought out by Transwood but the kept the former owner on as Manager. I was sent out with a trainer and he told me that I was good to go after 3 days but that he was keeping me in training anyway. When I asked him why he told me that he got "$125.00 per day to babysit me". That was my first red flag. When he was driving he ran the rig onto the curb on the on ramp going onto highway because he was busy honking the highway horn and waving to one of his former co-workers. He was taking chance after chance with the rig and our lives and he would not stop so I started taking pictures. He holding his cell phone and talking on it going down the road. He took his eyes completely off the road at highway speed while trying to open a package of food while driving with one knee. I told my boss (the former owner) and even though I had dates and times and pictures of the trainers blatant disregard for safety he told me that he didn't care what I said that he trusted the guy. I was glad to get away from this job with my life.

Shuttle Driver

Magnum LTL - Fargo

  • Adhere to traffic laws and to the safety procedures outlined by the company laws.
  • Constant drop and hook
  • This was a new job that Magnum had just created. All of the bugs had not been worked out yet. Durring training I had to listen to hours of the instructor drone on and on about his life story over and over and regale us with outlandish stories of his accomplishments. I was told that I would recieve $900.00 at the end of orientation but I only recieved $600.00. When I tried to ask about the pay discrepancy I was given the run around. I never recieved the $300.00. I was hired as a shuttle driver and was told that it was no touch frieght and yet I was made to sort hoses out of large boxes every night in the ware house. I had gone through truck driving school and endured everything I had gone through to be robbed of my earnings and work in a warehouse so I let this job go.

Class A CDL Driver

  • This was a very fast paced job that required me to drive the truck and trailer up onto a hopper several times during my shift. It required me to drive a trailer that was over loaded and top heavy on wet roads which would soon become icy roads. There was very little training involved for this job. I spoke with the guy on the phone went to take the drug test and went to work. I was told that the job paid $20.00 an hour which I thought was low pay but I decided to do it any way. However when I actually got there in the office the guy told me that it was not $20.00 per hour exactly but rather it averaged out to be around that but that we would be paid per load. I decided to go ahead and do it but I soon realized that if I was going to make around the $20.00 per hour I would have to speed and take safety risks. I was not willing to do that and so I averaged around $17.00 per hour. I left this job because I can not make ends meet at that pay rate. I left this job on good terms and was told by the distric Manager told me that I was welcome to back any time.

  • The winter season was over and it was time to go back to work at Aggregate industries. I was so trumatized by Aggregate that the tought of having to go back was almost more than I could bear. My husband and I decided that we would just be OTR team drivers. We would get to be together and make great money, enjoy seeing new places. So we went to work for Schneider. It was a good company. Very nice Trucks. We went to Indiana and went through the training. We went to Walmart and spent a lot of money buying a new microwave and groceries and sleeping gear and then set out on the road. Only to discover that neither of us were able to sleep while the truck was in motion. We looked and felt like zombies. My husband ended up calling and speaking with the manager about pulling the truck over so we could sleep but the purpose team driving is to keep the rig moving. So we had to let that dream go and we ended up going back to Aggregate briefly.

  • Able to navigate GPS and follow verbal directions to job sites
  • Adhere to traffic laws and to the safety procedures outlined by the company laws
  • I had just left the bus driving job and this was my first truck driving job. I drove a super 10 speed truck and I enjoyed the work. However the boss and some of the co-workers thought that while it was o.k. for a woman to drive a little dump truck it was not o.k. for a woman to drive a semi truck and trailer. Other co-worker were supportive and consoling which made things bearable. I will not go in to detail here for sake of space but suffice it to say that I was screamed at and made fun of. I was lied to and lied on. I was sent on wild goose chases. My truck was tampered with. My boss's boss always took his side of things. I was discriminated against on a daily basis. I tried to stick it out and just ignore the rest because It was my first truck driving job. Unfortunatly the aggregate portion of this company in Glyndon was just an old boys club and I was not one of them. My boss was mad at me for having told him that I was not returning because of the Schnieder job. After we found out that we could not do the team driving job I called my boss at Aggregate and asked him to hire me back but not long after the rehire I was let go on a technicality.

  • Adhere to traffic laws, in addition to meeting the state and federal transit regulation
  • I stayed at this job for 7 1/2 years because I loved it. There were good and bad days. I was even assaulted once for protecting one of the passengers ( which was shown on the local news). I was concerned about getting COVID because bus drivers are constantly exposed to the public and it was my dream to become a truck driver so I went to NDSCS truck driving school and got my class-A. It was hard to leave this job because my regular customers didn't want me to go and I would genuinely miss them and the job that I had grown accustomed to. Still I was excited to start my career as a truck driver so I closed this chapter.
