This course's focus was on designing a proposal for a high performance, climate-responsive accessory dwelling unit (ADU), powered only by the sun and the renewable electricity produced on the roof using photovoltaics. This project was designed to create the ADU capable of sustaining two inhabitants adhering to net-zero energy consumption, regulation and maximization of daylight/heat transfer while also providing a beautiful indoor and outdoor living environment with a meaningful connection between them.

This course's project focused on creating an architect's office plan prioritizing sound reduction through strategic wall design and applying different material STCs to maximize sound absorption. Appropriate wall compositions were then researched and selected for optimized acoustics.

This project was to design a bridge underpass facilitating community engagement while using the natural slope to create a filtration system to replenish water back into the earth. A thorough site analysis was performed to assess community deficiencies then used natural materials to create the filtration system. Then a physical model was constructed featuring detailed sections and perspectives for spatial representation.
