UNITEDHEALTHCARE PROGRAMS IN DETAIL

  • Health Promotion activities while employed as clinical administrative nurse consultant with UnitedHealthcare for clients - the following programs occurred with Rumpke
  • Implementation and Promotion of annual onsite health exams-
  • Employee participation rates of 85-90% annually until the onset of the pandemic in 2020. The client was so encouraged by response rate that this benefit was extended to employee spouses, and again we saw participation rates of 80% in this group.
  • Health Promotion activity to address obesity
  • BMI challenge from 2015 through 2019. The program allowed employees to earn incentive cash bonuses for maintaining or reducing body mass index measured yearly during the onsite health exams. Each year more than two-thirds of the 3500 employees received the cash incentive and were able to maintain or reduce their body mass index scores each year the program was in operation.
  • Primary care access initiative- based on high ER use and low PCP engagement- incentive program was developed that offered a cash incentive to any employee who completed an annual physical exam. Employees received $150 cash bonus for obtaining annual PCP preventive care exam- average 60 % of total insured employees participated 2019 – 2022
  • I cannot share proprietary information, but I can report that this employer has remained a client of UnitedHealthcare for over ten years, and the impact of the nurse liaison was frequently at the top of the list of considerations for their choice during renewal.
