Water Plant Operator II 1/1999 - 5/2000

Lead operator with a B NC Water Certification working on a 12hr rotating shift. Managed water levels in water towers and system pressures in a town water system that produced 4-20 million gallons per day in a regional water system of three municipalities. Completed jar tests for chemical usage during water treatment to determine maximum effectiveness for clarification and disinfection of town water supplies and surrounding areas that were supported by water plant. Conducted required lab tests on water samples keep water within all set tolerances as required by state and federal regulations. Maintained all chemical levels with in plant required for treatment during shift. Managed water levels and NPDES discharges within tolerances for sludge pond. Supervise and train one Operator I on shift for state certification.

• Responsible for Soldier training and qualifications in water purification operations from urban environments in humanitarian operations to field environments in combat operations in Reverse Osmosis Water Purification Units (ROWPU) 600/3000 GPH

• Reconnaissance of water purification sites in conjunction with terrain, water characteristics, and best use of chemicals through field laboratory tests to produce a safe water for drinking, hygiene, and disinfection of local equipment and facilities to help get communities back on their feet after a natural disaster
• Maintained Fleet of for ROWPU's at 100% readiness for the NCNG that had prior to 1999 had fallen to 50% due to lack of knowledge in proper maintenance and repair of equipment and training by Maintenance Personnel

Lead operator with a TX C Water Certification working on an 8-12hr rotating shift Depending on plant site. Managed water levels in water towers and system pressures in a town water system that produced 6-72 million gallons per day. Coordinated Second Shift Main Water Plant along with Operator I and Coordinated Second Water Plant Operator II by utilizing SCADA system to keep system at peak efficiency and output. Allocated Raw water in-take from 3 area water sources to keep raw water holding pond full as water is pumped to each plant site for treatment. Completed jar tests for chemical usage during water treatment to determine maximum effectiveness for clarification and disinfection of town water supplies and surrounding areas that are supported by plant. Conducted various lab tests of area lake water samples to help control Algae growth and determine proper dosage of copper sulfate. Conducted required lab tests on water samples to keep water within set limits of state and federal regulations. Supervise and train one Operator I on shift for state certification.
