I worked in the jail from 1991 until 1997, see information at the end of this paperwork

RN in the Jail System

Multnomah County Health Department
Portland, OR
02.1991 - 1997
  • This can be added to the Multnomah County information as I worked in the jail from 1991 to 1997, then went to Las Vegas until 1999 and back to the county until 2021-one day a week after full-time retirement in 2013. I helped out the nursing staff from 2013 to 2021-not sure of exact date here as it may have been 2020.
  • The jail consisted of client management, assessing needs on incoming inmates as well as long term inmates. They had many needs regarding medical issues as well as psychological issues. This was the best job anyone could ever have for diversity on all levels.

RN Case Manager

P/A information for hospitilizations in Nevada
Las Vegas, NV
1997 - 1999
  • Created authorizations for hospitalizations and procedures in the state of Nevada
  • The information was given to the company and a staff of RN's carried out the paperwork to authorize the orders for a client
  • I also did the DRG's (Diagnosis related group, which is carried out by Medicare and various other insurance companies depending on the foundation of the hospital reimbursement system) in the hospitals in Las Vegas which determined how long a client could remain in the hospital with the current stay limits at that time.
  • Also while in Las Vegas I worked as a visiting nurse carrying out procedures such as IV's and respiratory therapy as well as other associated things with a visiting nurse practice. Las Vegas is a very transient place and RN's participated in various endeavors in the nursing field.

RN

Vancouver Clinic
Vancouver, WA
1977 - 1991
  • Ran one physicians practice completely
  • Assessed client's needs by phone calls, personal interaction and according to the MD's requests. He allowed me to assess client's many times according to his wishes as he trusted my impressions with nursing diagnoses.
  • He was the most intelligent person I have ever worked with and I learned more from him than anyone since that time.
