Students needed to refer to the DSM-5 Substance Use Criteria and discuss the character's proposed diagnosis by supporting how the character met each selected criteria, the ASAM placement associated with the character, and the proposed treatment plan.   • Students were expected to create an assessment report of two clients struggling with drug use and justify the reasoning behind a diagnosis, ASAM placement, and recommended treatment while referring to the DSM-5 Substance Use Criterion. (Assessment Report 1&2)

In describing these clients, students must include an "intervention plan" for each. These intervention plans must mention specific points of action a client could implement and an explanation as to how these points could benefit the client, supplying sufficient evidence through knowledge of psychology and counseling techniques/perspectives.
