I started working at IHOP around September 2023, and I really liked it a lot. My role as a server at IHOP was welcoming guests after they were seated. Then, I would take their drink and food orders. After that, I would go back to the POS system and put their order in. When the food was ready, I brought it out to them and asked if they needed anything else in between their meals until they were done eating. The people I worked with were really helpful when things got busy or out of hand, so that helped a lot. I left IHOP because I am looking for better and new opportunities.
Working at Amazon had a lot of labor involved, but I didn't mind it; I enjoyed moving around a lot. My role was to stow items on the correct shelf, fill the shelves up, and send them out for packaging. The hours I was given worked with my schedule, and if they didn't, the company was very flexible, which helped a lot. The only problem was that I lived really far away, and I didn't have a reliable way of transportation, so I resigned.
When I first got there, I was cross-trained, so it depended on the position I was put in that day. I did everything from taking orders in the drive-thru and up front with the customers to making the fried chicken. I also did dishes and cleaned the bathrooms. I also did lot checks to make sure our parking lot was clean, so I'm knowledgeable about how to keep a restaurant clean and how to make sure everything runs smoothly.
