This is the most fulfilling job I have ever had I work alongside with patients who have brain cancer. I administer a neuro cognitive exam on them before and after radiation to check for progression or improvement to memory and motor skills. Once patients have had exam done I then extract the data to input into a spread sheet and then that data is analyzed by MD Rupesh Kotecha for abstract studies and ESTRO publications.
In this position I have gained endless skills of patient insurance verification ranging from Aetna to BCBS, Cigna, Avmed and so forth also I gained in this position so much experience with different types of personality in patients. It was a very rewarding job when you were able to help patients out via their insurance company since they held different policies. I also learned how to do authorization and how to work side by side with different healthcare providers to get the patient their end goal of being seen and treated. I would also collect money if needed, as well as call patients to remind them of their copays, deductibles, coinsurance and remind them of their appointments.
