• Administer and maintain appropriate anesthesia and surgical preparations (pre through post-op care)
• Advanced knowledge of anesthetic protocols and ability to effectively treat and respond in critical and unstable cases.
• Broad knowledge of orthopedic and soft tissue surgeries.
• Educate clients on animal health care, including proper nutrition, preventive care, post operative care and rehabilitation.

Client hospitality and education, venipuncture, fear free restraint, SQ, IM, and IV injections, suture removal, pharmacology, digital radiography, surgical assistance, triage, auscultation, bandaging and wound management, splint application, urinalysis, hematology, fecal analysis, cytologies, dental prophylaxis and extractions, correct and thorough medical record keeping, use of the DVMax computer program, inventory and ordering of medical supplies, use of a class 4 cold laser, proper sterilization of all instrumentation and equipment, and much more.

• Lead technician responsible for creating and implementing SOPs for all NVVA hospitals; as well as onboarding and training new hires.
• Maintain proper documentation and protocols for all controlled substances.
• Responsible for training new and existing staff in: handling and restraint of aggressive animals; obtaining pertinent patient history; maintaining correct and thorough medial records; proficiency and knowledge of drug dosages and fluid calculations; perform, position and interpret digital radiography; surgical assistance; triage; auscultation; bandaging and wound management; development of appropriate anesthetic protocols and patient treatment plans; neonate resuscitation; laboratory procedures such as: urinalysis, hematology, cytologies and fecal analysis; performing dental prophylaxis and dental extractions; as well as use of the AVImark computer program and so much more.
