I took nursing assistant training at Mt Joy votech, in high school. Worked at Mt Hope home as a nursing assistant. Worked in other nursing homes while attending Lebanon vo-tech for LPN. After getting my LPN license I worked with 2 home care agencies, working in both homes and nursing homes. Worked for Hospice of Lancaster co for 15 yrs where I was responsible for up to 6 patients each day. I had clients in both home and nursing homes. I have worked with pediatrics to geriatrics but my favorite has always been geriatrics , particularly dementia. I strive to give the best care that I can give to my clients so that they can have the best quality of life that they can have.
At Hay creek I help the public to see and understand our roots by demonstrating the craft of candle dipping. We dress in period cloths during our fall festival and follow how things were done in the 1800s. I have also helped with archeology. Along with my love of history I have been working on my geneology as well as for friends.
