Thomas Forehand

During my time with Guardian Cleaners, I mainly worked at Planet Fitness, but also traveled to other locations. Here is an overview of my work:

• Cleaned windows at each of four locations once per month (Planet Fitness, Sun Tan City), using a squeegee, microfiber cloths, and a bucket of cleaning solution
• pulled trash and deposited it into dumpster
• restocked toilet paper and soap
• cleaned, disinfected, and scrubbed shower stalls, and various other surfaces
• dusted air vents and walls
• used and restocked automatic mixing station for cleaners and disinfectants
• plunged clogged toilets
• cleaned up biohazardous material
• reported maintenance problems, especially ones posing a safety risk to guests
• used dust mop and broom to sweep floors
• mopped floors
• employed deodorizing spray regularly, to improve guest satisfaction
• used an app (ADP) for clocking in and out, and for registering travel time.
• kept a log of times and completed tasks in a notebook
• filled in for coworkers while they were on vacation

As floor tech and housekeeper for Governor's Square Mall, my duties included the following:

• vacuum cleaning the carpeted areas (including carpet edges using a shop vac)
• scrubbing the tile (using mops, portable auto-scrubbers and non-portable auto-scrubbers)
• policing the mall with a maid cart (e.g., picking up litter, wiping down benches, cleaning glass doors)
• maintaining the cleanliness of the Food Court while in use by mall patrons
• cleaning and restocking the restrooms
• conducting trash runs
• sweeping and dusting the fire halls
• picking up litter in the parking lot
• escorting the skyjack while in use (for purposes of public safety)
• occasionally cleaning up vomit.

As a contractor for the schools at Fort Campbell, I performed the following duties:

• cleaning and disinfecting above-floor surfaces in classrooms and breakrooms
• sweeping floors
• pulling trash
• assisting team in breaking up ice around one of the schools

My main responsibilities, as subcontractor for Bridgestone Metalpha, were as following:

• cleaning and disinfecting breakrooms, restrooms and offices, usually with bleach solution
• polishing stainless steel surfaces (e.g., restroom stalls and sinks)
• cleaning windows
• dusting high surfaces
• sweeping and mopping floors
• pulling trash
• flattening and disposing of supply boxes
• assisting team with periodic deep cleaning projects
• assisting team with floor stripping and waxing

I performed the following housekeeping functions for the Clarksville Foundry and for Walnut Grove Missionary Baptist Church:

• cleaning and disinfecting breakrooms, restrooms, offices, classrooms and kitchens
• mopping floors and vacuum cleaning carpets
• emptying wastebaskets; hauling trash to the dumpster
• cleaning mirrors and windows
• using a back-mounted vacuum cleaner for the sanctuary carpet and pews

Working the night shift, I performed the following tasks:

• vacuum cleaning all carpeted areas, occasionally employing shop vac for edges
• scrubbing tile
• using chemicals to remove gum stuck to carpet
• checking and locking all exterior doors
• reporting urgent maintenance issues to my supervisor
• assisting the police in their investigation of a tripped store alarm.

I performed a wide range of housekeeping functions for Tennova Healthcare, including

• freshening up patient rooms; tending to patients' requests
• sweeping, disinfecting and removing trash from nurse stations and breakrooms
• turning over ED exam rooms
• cleaning and disinfecting restrooms
• removing trash, soiled linen and biohazard from the soiled utility closets; swapping out needle boxes; disposing of trash in the compactor; storing biohazard in a secure room for off-site disposal; loading soiled linen onto truck for off-site laundering;
• offloading shipments of fresh linen and delivering fresh linen to patient areas
• fetching hospital beds at the nurses' request
• dusting ceilings and polishing stainless steel ahead of inspections
• setting up tables and chairs for staff training sessions and public-access classes
• dusting and sweeping stair wells

I did housekeeping for banks and churches in Clarksville, TN, which included:

• sweeping and mopping floors
• vacuuming cleaning (often with a back-mounted vacuum cleaner)
• glass cleaning
• trash collecting
• disinfecting above-floor surfaces

Under the auspices of Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee, I completed a custodial training curriculum, consisting of both written exams and hands-on work. In the course of the training, I performed a variety of custodial tasks at several locations in Nashville, TN, including a community center, a truck maintenance facility and Goodwill's own facilities (the main building, the offices and the warehouse).
