-As Downtown Outdoor Supervisor runs a crew of 9 gardeners servicing over 80 accounts over downtown Manhattan,

-Coordinates with HQ and other departments to plan service schedule, installations, and project work.

• As Foreman of Downtown Service led a crew of 2-4 gardeners to work sites all over downtown Manhattan.
• Maintained and drove work van with all equipment/materials needed for our schedule.
• Oversaw and participated in all aspects of plant work/care, including removal, installation, transplanting, fertilization, maintenance, watering, and pest management.
• Ability to use irrigation systems and troubleshoot problems.

• Garden maintenance and horticultural care
• General maintenance including weeding, pruning, pinching, cleaning, mulching, cutting back plants for winter, etc
• Fertilized using both fast and slow release N-P-K fertilizers to promote growth and development of plants during different stages
• Scout plants/trees/surroundings for possible insects/fungal/pests that might harm the overall quality of plants under care
• Sprayed various chemicals ranging from liquid fertilizer, herbicide for weeds, horticultural oils/dormant oils for control of insect/pest population on tress and shrubs, fungicides for bacteria control when dealing with high moister/low evaporation situations
• Removal/Installation of plants/trees/shrubs with focus on providing proper soil amendments to ensure plant survival and health (For example adding a compost for organic matter and sand for a drainage solution when planting in areas that typically stay wet in order to preserve root health) -Emphasis on organization and overall quality of installed plants and gardens.

• Responsible for care of plugs, cuttings, and finished product within the greenhouse including flats, hanging baskets, potted plants and plug trays
• Closely involved in all stages of plant life from seed to finished product.
• Comfortable with the process of seeding and transplanting plugs.
• Rotation of watering and fertilizing of plants during different phases to increase quality of finished product
• Performed application of sprays and drenches of fungicides/Miticides /pesticides to provide a healthy growing environment as a disease/pest free product
• Monitored for pests, fungal, and disease outbreaks in the greenhouse.
