Work History

Substitute Teacher K-12

Twin Rivers Unified School District
04.2025 - Current
  • Implemented curriculum instructions left behind by teacher.
  • Provided classroom structure and behavioral intervention as well as leadership for students and paraprofessionals.
  • Utilize CPI techniques to manage behavioral challenges in the classroom such as cursing, eloping, aggression, self injurious behavior, property destruction, and other unsafe behavior.
  • Used positive reinforcement to motivate students to stay on track with the agenda laid out by the teacher.
  • I embrace routines already set by the teacher. In a less structured classroom, I set clear expectations and use songs to help with transitions such as clean up time, lunch time, line up time, etc…

Behavioral Health Technician

Amergis
01.2025 - 06.2025
  • Worked one on one with students and as general classroom support for students with disabilities such as ASD, ADHD, EDD, ID, and other disorders to help them stay on track and follow the goals laid out in their IEP and BIP.
  • Performed basic caregiving duties including helping students with toileting, lunchtime routine, handwashing, and getting to and from the bus, cafeteria, and classroom.
  • Utilized CPI techniques such as low and moderate level holds when necessary, crisis communication, positive and differential reinforcements such as directed praise and token economy systems. Used compliance checks and calm down corners as well as break rooms to get a student in crisis back to a calm state where they were ready to participate in the classroom again.

Registered Behavior Technician (RBT)

Advance Kids
07.2024 - 12.2024
  • Implemented IBSP with clients with IDD, ASD, ADHD, and ODD in order to reduce the frequency of adverse behavior such as aggression, spitting, property destruction, eloping, cursing, and self injurious behavior.
  • Successfully deescalated crisis on a daily basis using CPI and Ukero techniques. This involved using situational awareness to determine the level of response to match the level of crisis. Crisis communication while using Ukero blocking pads was the first approach, followed by low level, moderate level, and high level holds.
  • Tracked and logged behavior data using tablets. This data included adverse target behavior such as aggression frequency and duration, eloping, property destruction, and self injurious behavior. Uploaded behavioral data to central reach.
  • Effectively wrote daily service notes for each shift which involves time stamps and a sequential summary of the order of events that took place during the shift. The notes highlighted the significant behavioral issues that were prevalent during the shift as well as the response that I took to mitigate the crisis.
  • Responded to crisis in public when taking the clients out into the community. Utilized crisis communication, Ukero blocking pads, and situational awareness to keep the client and the public safe during outings.

Life Guide

Compass
08.2023 - 04.2024
  • Assisted adults with their ADLs who have Prader-Willi syndrome, IDD, cerebral palsy, dementia, ODD, PTSD, and autism.
  • Performed personal care interventions including: wheelchair transportation, Hoyer lift, and assisted bathing and showering. Each client had specific ADL needs that I worked with my supervisor and client to determine the best way I could be of assistance.
  • Successfully helped clients improve their quality of life by serving as a listening ear for their stories and struggles. I took clients on multiple road trips from Redding including: Sacramento, Lake Tahoe, Arcata, Ashland, Burney Falls, and McCloud Falls. We formed many memories together during these trips that the clients will never forget.
  • Helped clients with transportation to important functions such as: grocery shopping, hospital, church, friends house, park, Compass events, food pantry, and more.
  • Assisted clients with money management and helped them look for and sustain employment. I also helped with solving interpersonal conflicts with multiple clients who lived in the same apartment and both experienced IDD and other trauma.
