As well as being a leader in the school environment, I am also an active member of my local rugby team. Within this team, I am the Vice President of the club. In this role I have organized charity events, collaborated with outside agencies, planned budgets, worked with city parks, organized international tours, designed attire, created publications, and ran annual general meetings. Those skills transpire into the school environment as it has given me opportunities to develop my organization, communication, and leadership skills.
Currently at Mountain Vista Community School I have been given the opportunity to lead a special education committee to help progress and develop the special education programs at the school. We are implementing new ideas and procedures to help the department run more efficiently and effectively for students with identified needs. I am part of the district accountability committee in which we discuss and propose ideas to better improve the district to enhance student and staff achievement.
