Throughout my career with Community Living and Support Services, I had at least three different job titles with many levels of responsibility due to changes in organizational structure. I enjoyed all of my 24 years of service especially assisting individuals who were transitioning from high school to adult services and seeing them grow in their talents and abilities
Skills
- I taught different types of independent living skill building classes from computer basics to financial management I endeavored to strengthen the talent and abilities of each individual I worked with I enjoyed teaching the classes that focused on personal advocacy and communication
- The classes, including individuals who had different learning styles so i it was necessary to develop strategies that fostered the best learning opportunity
- Each class also lost involved identifying strategies for enhancing self-esteem as well as self-awareness
