• On-the-Job Learning & Skill Building: Assist crews with framing poles, setting crossarms, stringing overhead conductors, installing transformers, and laying underground cables.
• Ground Support & Site Operations: Act as a ground hand when needed—staging tools, prepping hardware, operating line truck equipment, and maintaining safe work zones or traffic control perimeters.
• Climbing & Rigging: Learn and safely practice climbing wood poles and steel structures using hooks, body belts, and fall protection equipment, alongside mastering heavy-duty rigging and knot-tying.
• Emergency & Storm Response: Accompany emergency response crews to gain real-world experience troubleshooting outages, clearing hazards, and restoring power during major weather events or grid incidents.
• Curriculum & Testing: Complete rigorous self-study modules, written exams, and practical field evaluations corresponding to each step of the apprenticeship progression.
