If given the opportunity to receive the position of pipeline labor, I believe this would only be the beginning of my career in this industry. I would also be considered, 5th generation pipeliner. This has been a way of life for my family throughout the generations. My great-great grandfather pipelined from the 1930’s until 1985 when he retired. His life was honored in the Pipeline Hall of Fame News. My great grandfather pipelined from 1962–1995, then he became a pastor in East Texas. My grandfather has been pipelining since 1980 and still going strong, with to many accomplishments to list. My father owned his own lawn and landscaping business for many years. He finally gave in, in 2013 and became a foreman for Troy Pipeline Construction. He is presently an environmental / utility inspector and has been representing Williams Gas Pipeline in particular, for over 9 years. I have much to represent and up hold. If given the opportunity I look forward to making these men proud, while continuing on our family tradition in this industry.
In May I took a position in a shipping and receiving warehouse. My tasks for this job consist of picking item and packing items. I mainly scan and load the packages into the semi trucks, I prefer the more physical aspect of this task.
I was hired back as assistant manager with the same tasks as before. In addition to managing and keeping my staff motivated. I also would order all of my departments inventory. Closing the store in the evenings and open the store in the morning for the morning managers.
My job at food city consisted of down stacking pallets, loading and unloading semi trucks. I also had to maintain freezer and cooler temperatures. Stock and clean up shelves nightly.
I enjoy learning new things and excel in fast pace environments I also enjoy a challenge and usually do my best in these situations I am a self motivated person, who leads by example, yet understands the importance of teamwork When given my promotion at Food City, my manager complemented my reliability and hard work I may not know everything I need to know in every situation, but I will always try my best to understand and accomplish the task
