Verizon Edge Services and Applications (VESA) is the Verizon common service framework that works consistently across various MEC environments with common interfaces and orchestration. Its server at central component for MEC application integrate and services

  • Worked as system integrators and built several Computer Vision applications to demonstrate how third parties can easily integrate into the VESA/MEC framework. The demo was very successful and presented to the Executive's team, as well as in the organization.
  • Collaboration of several 5G devices for integration into MEC/VESA components. These devices like 5G Cameras, 5G routers, IP Cameras , and integrated into Public MEC and Private MEC.
  • Worked closely with manufacturers to support features like RTPS on TLS for 5G Camera, Docker container for 5G router, Docker container/Kubernetes support for several devices for data streaming.
  • Worked with customers vendor for needs analysis and to determine vendor costs/product road map.
  • Aided in system engineering duties, providing input on hardware and networking design architecture.
  • Demonstrated/Integrated end to end solution. Streaming data from 5G Camera on 5G mmWave to MEC, passed through VESA framework, and processed by Third Party application . Currently have this setup in Boston Innovation Lab for customer visit.

Edge Discovery Service Platform (EDS) is one of the components of Verizon Solutions & Applications (VESA) is the Verizon common service framework. Edge Discovery Service (EDS) is a RESTful API that would allow application developers to discover, deploy, manage, and orchestrate applications and services on MEC platforms at the network edges

  • Responsible for design and implementation Edge Discovery Service Client SDK , EDS SDK Client provides optimal MEC endpoint to the application to reduce latency and brings real-time performance to high-bandwidth applications

Verizon Internet Service Platform(VISP) The platform supports diverse internet traffic, including HTTPS, IPv4, and IPv6. It has per-flow control, contextual awareness, and a self-service portal, coupled with unified billing capabilities

  • Responsible for design and implementation flow manager, TCP optimization
  • This task includes in deep packet inspection, debug flow control on customer side, manage each TCP packet to the right rule engine
  • Responsible for design and implementation of flow manager for Video Optimization

E-100 Deep Packet Inspection Fast Path

  • I was responsible for design and implementation of packet receive and transmit logic in Arbor Networks E100 Deep Packet Inspection system
  • This task involved in handle multiple packets from multiple threads and from different network core
  • The logic involved inspecting packet header (IP/TCP/UDP) and forwarding the packet to multiple destination micro-engines
  • Implemented logic to configure the flow policies, classify packets to respective flows in different core cpu(s)
  • I worked on Packet Monitor feature of E100 DPI Switch
  • This feature would allow certain flows to be monitored
  • Packets of monitored flows would be tapped and sent to an external Ethernet port
  • The task involved in build network driver, accept packet receive from the wire then forward those special packets to sockets and send out destination port

Application Signature Detection:

  • I was responsible for DPI application detection using “Behavioral Analysis” in Arbor Network E100 DPI system
  • I worked closely with other team members to design the algorithms using analysis of application packet captures, implement and test them in real network conditions
  • These handle detection in flow signature, include Bit torrent encryption , HTTP signature detection , SIP and H323 flow detection and creation
  • I implemented algorithms for application detection using Behavioral Analysis in microcode language on IXP and NFP
  • I was also responsible for PCAP file analysis to determine signatures for various applications
  • These detection mechanisms were then implemented using Regular Expression feature of the E100 switch

Network Security Intelligence System:

  • I worked on GUI models to create/modify HTML pages, and collect data for further analysis
  • Programming languages used included HTML, Java Script, Python, and SQL

Layer2 Drivers, Linux, VxWorks Kernel Development:

  • I worked on configuring Ethernet driver, and implemented VxWorks Device END drivers for E100 DPI Switch

  • Worked on Avici Switch linecard, responsible for layer 2 driver, microcode, and VxWorks kernel bring up
  • Implement boot up process, worked on bringing up Xscale OS on IXP2400, memory management, bring up the Intel framework, initializes all the core components and download the micro-code from flash memory onto Xscale micro-engines

  • Currently this application allow user monitor capability, but also he/she can also modify current configuration on T1, E1 or BRI supported by RAScom Board locally or remotely
