-Patient preparation for cardiac procedures. Including admission, Vital signs, obtaining consents for procedure, reviewing labs, medications and allergies, implementing pre- procedure doctors orders, IV line placement, monitoring EKG rhythms, obtaining patient history, administration of pre-procedure medications.

-Procedural RN responsibilities include, monitor patient vitals signs, EKG monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, administering cardiac medications, ability to set up and run procedure equipment including, Shockwave, Impella, Balloon Pumps, Rotoblader, EKOS, Hemochrone, EPOC, ISTAT and Glucometers. -Provide procedural sedation and assessment throughout the procedure.

-Post Procedure Care of the cardiac patient includes, sheath site monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, pain control, VS and EKG monitoring. Monitor for sedation, and antiarrhymic adverse reactions post procedure. Ensuring patient meets discharge criteria and provide discharge instructions regarding site care, lifestyle and medication changes and follow up appointments.
