Participate in monthly lead teacher workshops to plan and receive training for improving leadership and instructional practices. Identify and coach teachers on pedagogical materials, resources, and best practices for student engagement and scholarship improvement. Facilitate and conduct analysis of student assessment data to inform and modify curriculum and instruction, identify gaps in student knowledge, capitalize on areas of prior student knowledge, and recognize necessary instructional intervention for students. Manage and advise teachers' lesson plans and their application in the classroom
Coordinate and inaugurate weekly department meetings and campus-wide professional developments on utilization of technology and implementation of curriculum in the classroom, as well as student engagement teacher tools and strategies
Turnkey and oversee implementation of procedures in tandem with the school and district visions and initiative to improve students' reading, writing, and college and careers readiness
Plan professional development calendar and resources for teacher development according to staff needs and strengths
Coordinate with other department leads as a member of the Instructional Leadership Team to collect and review classroom data, determine annual trends, and strategize plans for improvement. Mentor and assess new and novice teachers in the performance standards of planning for learner centered instruction, classroom environment, and professional development. Conduct non-evaluative pre-observation, informal observations, and post observation conferences using rubric and formats designed for reflective mentee led discussions. Coach new and novice teachers in the development of data collection and lesson plan analysis, designed to improve instructional practices.
