  • Providing unique strategies to help guide and educate students with various particular learning issues.
  • Maintaining my own MTSS class every morning on Mondays-Fridays. In this class, I create my own lesson plan for my students to follow, to which there are usually ten kids or so. I am a big fan of listening to the topics that interest them. Next comes building a plan to peak their interests from the topic chosen, yet being able to stimulate their brains as they gather information, and create either their own PowerPoint presentation, poster, or something along those lines. my students are basically of higher educational abilities, so it important that I push them as well. We have a lot of fun, and if they do well upon completion, they enjoy rewards. They are also always excited to get a special box of birthday candy, to their choosing.
  • I aid in classrooms, specifically to one student in particular. For one of the main students I have now, I have created a checklist that sits on his desk. Half of it has a blue side, which talks about rewards for good behavior, the other half is red and shows things we are working on not doing. I also have a red Expo, and a blue. this child knows if I pull out red, he may get an x for bad behavior and has a chance to change his ways. The other, blue, gives him check marks to reward him with good behavior. He must earn 5 or more for a reward. This has been very effective.
  • I help manage the lunch room for Kindergarten, up to 6th grade. It has been my duty to keep track, with my own system, what children to pick for cleaning duty each day. It is important to make sure good behavior is happening, there is a level of respect for peers, eating utensils are not destroyed or thrown away, and the room stays clean. I also help pick up spills, and aid to children who need something.
  • Working alongside my co-workers, we maintain a meaningful professional relationship. I make it of absolute importance to help them in any which way I can, as needed. We have developed a wonderful level of communication, which helps provide our students and one another with the highest level of assistance and care possible.

  • I expand my working abilities when I attend important inservices for the 489 district, and their special trainings. I also am certified to help maintain a child when they could be a danger to themselves or others.
  • In the classroom I am able to accommodate with behavioral issues. If I see something that the teacher does not at that moment, it is taken care of right away.
  • I supervise students at breakfast, lunch, recess, and sometimes after school with our CARE program.
  • When I work one-on-one with a student, or even in groups, it is always important to get to know the child, and maintain a positive relationship with them. When a student trusts you, they tend to work with you better. What's most important with trust, is that they feel comfortable enough to work on the assignment, while feeling safe in your presence. This is also a way to learn tactics to help them if they have any kind of behavioral issues, or are easily distracted.

Secretary and Front Sales

Carrico Implement of Hays

  • Personally went through all of the customers physical files, and organized them by removing and re-storing paperwork that was past a certain age. I then recreated the alphabet system to each of the drawers. This made accessing newer customer paperwork so much easier and more up to date.
  • Answering the phone with a specific "Carrico" greeting, and in a positive manner, I made sure to connect the customers to where they needed to go, or was able to help them myself.
  • In charge of the men's time cards from the mechanic department. I made sure to look over each card effectively and accurately in military time, so that there were no errors to their pay for that pay period. The time was then put into the computer system.
  • Deposited all of Carrico's daily funds into the bank through my computer's system. This could be $60,000 one day, or 1M the next! It was also up to me to handle bank runs, or grab things needed for the business in town.
  • Created and made to have signed by sales, all thank you cards for customers who made a purchase. Shipping out mail was part of my job description, as well as making sure we had an abundance of the stamps we were subscribed to. I also customized and created Business Cards for each individual sales man.
  • Completely reorganized the front where the smaller sales were. My goal was to make everything easier for customers to look through and access. I correctly updated prices on items, and gave the storefront an overall better, cleaner look. I became in charge of running the front room and checking out the customer's items, combined with my other original duties. I do believe I was an asset here.
