Patient Service Representative
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- File claims using all appropriate forms and attachments
- Handle Outbound calls and Maneuvered between several different software systems
- Research account denials and file written appeals, when necessary
- Evaluate information received from clients to determine which insurance to bill and attain necessary attachments or supporting documentation to send with each claim
- Ensure integrity of each claim that is billed
- Document in detail all efforts in CUBS system and any other computer system necessary
- Verify patient information and benefits
- Proved successful working within tight deadlines and fast-paced atmosphere
- Followed document protocols to safeguard confidentiality of patient records
- Reviewed and corrected claim errors to facilitate smooth processing
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet specified goals and objectives as assigned by management
- Maintain good working relationships with state and Federal agencies
- Resolve accounts timely
- Always maintain confidentiality of account information
- Adhere to prescribed policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook and Employee Code of Conduct
- Maintain awareness of and actively participate in Corporate Compliance Program
- Maintain confidential and orderly remote work area
- Assist with other projects as assigned by management
Achievements
- Managed over 50 customer calls per day and completed at least 50 patient accounts daily to meet productivity goals
- Escalated Medicaid cases to hearing level when there was delay in processing eligibility
- Patient's Medicaid was resolved and benefits were open for date(s) that were requested
