Throughout my life children have been dear to my heart. I started babysitting at 11, worked in daycare and even ran a daycare out of my home. I raised two children of my own, worked at a pre school, headed vacation bible school, volunteered in elementary classrooms even after my own children had graduated from high school. I coached soccer. Drove a school bus for 19 years. Attended more sporting events, music concerts and plays to encourage, support and earn respect from my students and their families. Being part of the community and building kids up is important to me. Making sure my students felt important, included and safe every day has always been my number one goal. I teach compassion, kindness and empathy by being an example and addressing situations in a loving, encouraging way. Taking an aggressive stance on bullying has led to a very successful career as a school bus driver. My students actually like me, respect me and their grown ups have always thanked me for making their child’s bus experience a positive one. They have also expressed how they feel safe putting their child on my bus.
