I've spent the last 22 years with the same company starting off as a shop helper, and then growing into a plumbing service tech. I spent about 10 years running service calls at a high level to eventually get promoted to a management position. I've since become a service manager responsible for most of the day to day operations including dispatching, inventory control, purchasing, permitting, customer management and conflict resolution. I'm very familiar with the Florida Building Code and feel that the next evolution of my career is in the public sector. I've always had an affinity for the Building Departments we've worked with over the years, and a growing appreciation for the priorities of customer safety and compliance over profit margins.
Led Gus Plumbing to an almost perfect compliance record when it comes to the permits pulled over the years across multiple municipalities. I've learned multiple permitting software platforms, and have become proficient on the user side which would greatly help me learn the admin side. I've cultivated relationships with building departments, and inspectors to seamlessly address and correct any issues that come up from time to time. I'm familiar with the procedures related to permitting from application to attachments to inspections to close-out. Having been in an office type environment for many years, I can adapt to and learn a new culture in the public sector.
