Summary

I have been an IT professional for 8 years now and am looking to branch out and advance my career to areas that I have more interest in. While I love my current role and all of the different systems I get to work with, my real passion is focusing on Systems, Networking, and Security. I am very reliable and able to conform to the needs of the business/employer. I am very serious about making sure solutions are provided in a timely manner, and rather than tell somebody that I don't have an answer, I make sure they know that I will find one. I take pride in making sure that my work is thorough, and that I would be proud to show it to others. I am also able to work collaboratively, and understand that my weaknesses may be another person's strengths and that there is valuable knowledge to be found everywhere. I am experienced and proven in being able to manage and maintain various different forms of IT infrastructure. This includes databases, data analysis, servers, virtual machines, ERPs, networks, security standards and protocols, FTPs/sFTPs, and other things. I also possess a certification from Google in Cyber Security, and am working towards finishing my CCNA. Above all, I pride myself in making sure that the stakeholders have faith in my ability to find a solution quickly and thoroughly, and make sure that I communicate my plan and steps along the way.

Work History

EDI and Systems Administrator

06.2020 - Current

EDI Administration:

- Worked with various trading partners (Goodyear, Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Pirelli, Yokohama, Hankook, Kumho, Falken, and Toyo) to implement infrastructure and connections to allow us to electronically and automatically transmit transactions (Invoices, Purchase Orders, Sellout Reports)

- Gathered unique specifications from each trading partner, and tailored the implementation to meet the needs of that trading partner

- Configured FTP/SFTP directories and accounts to transmit data between us and trading partners

- Managed and optimized our EDI Database (SQL). This entailed creating maintenance plans, archiving old data to streamline specific tasks that would query data in that database

- Worked internally with Finance department to understand the needs of our business, and tweak our EDI processes accordingly.

- Worked with stored procedures in SQL to tailor specific aspects of the EDI data we were receiving and how it would populate our database tables

- Build workflows and tasks that automated the import/export of transactions between us and various trading partners

-Optimized these tasks to meet the needs of our business (this could include having tasks run more frequently so we could send transactions at a higher tempo, or altering the amount of data a specific task is looking at to streamline how long that task takes to completed.)

- Hosted weekly meetings with our Finance department to go over fixes and updates that were applied in relation to problems they presented to me. Also used this time to gather feedback and information on new issues and develop a plan of action to tackle those issues.

- Migrated Sellout Reporting from our legacy, in-house, linux based system to our ERP (Dynamics 365)

- Received feedback from customers of Sullivan Tire on pain points they were experiencing relating to the legacy EDI system, and addressed these issues with the new implentations

System Administration:

- Worked to build and optimize networks in retail, wholesale, and commercial locations.

- Installed Cisco security appliances and access points in stores

- Configured patch panels, switches, servers

- Routed cables for networking throughout various sites

- Monitored network traffic and connections

- Analyzed potential security risks

- Managed geo-policies that would block network access from specific locations

- Configured VLANs for various purposes such as segmenting our phones off of the main site network

- Performed repairs and maintenance on servers

- Configured and maintained on-premise and Azure based cloud VM's

- Peformed database backups

- Performed internal phishing campaigns to identify potential high-risk users, and provided these users with educational courses to inform them on safe cyber practices.

- Vetted potential malicious emails, URLs, and files.

- Quarantined infected machines and dealt with threat accordingly

- Configured probe devices and sensors with PRTG to monitor hundreds of devices across our network

- Performed on-site surveys to determine network configurations to meet the need of that site.

- Supported company wide server refresh in 80+ retail locations (this entailed an installation of a new physical host, as well as a database migration from the database VM on the old server to the new server)
