Duties: Completed the apprenticeship program in 2017. In my first year I quickly gained opportunities for advanced mechanical jobs as management learned that I had strong mechanical skills from my previous two decades of mechanical experience. As my career here excelled, I became a Mechanical Work Leader in 2019 leading crews on all job assignments coaching and mentoring the planning, organization, work procedures, and very importantly, all safety aspects such as Lock-out/Tag-out, HEC controls, working from AWP’s, operating cranes, forklifts, etc.
Heavy Mobile Equipment Mechanical Work Leader for Portal cranes, Mobile cranes, Bridge cranes, and all Category 3 cranes. Plan and execute the repair of all types of heavy mobile equipment. I have performed duties as the Work Leader on Mobile cranes, Portal cranes, large Bridge cranes and Cat 3 Jib, pillar, wall, underhung bridge cranes leading crews on all job assignments coaching and mentoring the planning, organization, work procedures, and very importantly, all safety aspects such as Lock-out/Tag-out, HEC controls, working from AWP’s, Asbestos migration, operating cranes, forklifts, etc. Possess substantial experience at the Journey-level with weight handling equipment, hydraulic system troubleshooting, repair, engine overhauls, transmission repair, differential repair, planetary gearbox overhauls, charging nitrogen accumulators, rebuilding turbo charges, among many other complex repairs. I am called upon to determine work methods, procedures, sequences, tools, equipment, and scheduled time required in making the extensive repairs to the cranes and heavy mobile equipment. Have the experience and ability to inspect the equipment and determine the best course of resolution. Conduct operational tests to ensure acceptable quality and satisfactory work completion. Coach, mentor, and teach the mechanical fundamentals of process, procedure, and technical guidance to the newer and less experienced employees. I take great pride in sharing knowledge. Have filled in as Supervisor on numerous occasions and numerous daily times on Cat 3, mobile, and portal crane crews. In this position, I manage workload forecasts and anticipate resource, material, and equipment as well as establish priorities on the basis of general work schedules, methods, plan and execute the repair of all types of heavy equipment, conduct Interactive Briefs, oversee safety mitigation policy, assign work to subordinates and instructing them on work requirements, methods, and procedures, coordinating with support shops, planning complex evolutions, counseling workers, and ensuring my team has the support, training, and materials to succeed. Ability to lead or supervise. Developed procedures for repairs. Extensive engine rebuilding experience in several fields including motorcycles, automotive, ATV's, Personal Watercraft, outboard engines, and diesel engines. Possess a strong ability to follow oral and written instructions independently to perform all repairs with little to no supervision. I believe strongly in pre-planning, have strong organizational skills and have strong multi-tasking skills. Maintain licenses for Aerial Work Platforms, Scissor lifts, Category 3 Forklift, Category 2 Crane Operator, Asbestos mitigation and numerous other qualifications/trainings.
