  • Managed Capital Construction, Control Maintenance, and Emergency Projects for the Colorado Department of Personnel & Administration(DPA). DPA manages a real estate portfolio of 17 buildings totaling 1.8 million sqft. Buildings include the State Capitol, the Governor’s Residence, 3 high rise buildings and other business and industrial occupancy buildings.
  • Managed all phases of project delivery to include scope development, estimating, funding requests, design solicitation, design, plan review, bidding, contract negotiations, contract administration, construction, and close out. All projects were managed in accordance with state procurement rules and the Office of the State Architect’s guidelines utilizing design/bid/build and CM/GC project delivery methods.


Projects include:

  • Modernized the HVAC distribution system at the 690 & 700 Kipling buildings. The project included replacing all VAV’s, medium pressure duct, and migrating pneumatic controls to DDC. Project was conducted after hours working above occupied space.
  • Remodeled nine original restrooms in the Department of Revenue facility at 1881 Pierce St that was built in the early 80’s.
  • Managed a 2 phase EPC that included the installation of a 100kw PV array, converting from steam to natural gas fired boilers for hydronic heating, retro-commissioning, converting all lights to LED, and adding a chilled water HX to supplement a ground source heat pump system in the State Capitol.
  • Managed a $3.12 million three phase renovation of the Historic Governor's Residence at the Boettcher Mansion.
  • Replaced the fire suppression and fire detection system in the Centennial Building, a high rise building in the heart of downtown Denver.
  • Replaced major mechanical equipment to include main electrical switch gear, campus chillers and cooling towers.
  • Installed 50 EV charging stations to support the State fleet of EV’s.
  • Managed an accessibility assessment on all DPA managed buildings, to include schematic design for problematic areas. This project produced a 1000+ page document outlining all existing barriers including prioritization, schematic designs and probable cost estimates for future planning and funding requests. Explored ways to eliminate irrigated turf.

  • Managed multiple projects in a matrix environment for the Colorado Department of Human Services, Facilities Management Division, at the Colorado Mental Health Institute in Pueblo; a 302 acre campus encompassing 1.2 million square feet of real-estate including a forensic hospital, mental institutions, youth and adult correctional facilities and administrative buildings.
  • Performed space planning, design work, estimating, project management and produced construction documents for numerous architectural, landscaping, electrical and mechanical projects.
  • Effectively managed the selection of contractors through the bidding process in compliance with State Procurement Regulations.

  • Managed two Energy Performance Contract Projects with a budget of $18.9 million. Projects involved demand side management analysis, retro-commissioning buildings, renewable energy analysis, replacing major HVAC and other mechanical equipment, updating campus chilled water distribution systems, updating building automation, and installing more efficient plumbing and lighting retrofits. The project also included the installation of a 1,500 ft. new water main.
  • Managed the design and installation of the campus Maxicom irrigation system. Directed crews to integrate 42 Rainbird satellites across campus into one fully automated system cutting water consumption by 33%, while being careful to not affect the established aesthetics of the campus.
  • Managed the Siemens building automation MBC fast-forward to PXC project.
  • Assisted Senior Project Managers in delivering a new $73 million Forensics Hospital.
  • Created the Stormwater Management Plan for the Southern District in 2008 in accordance to EPA and Colorado Department of Health and Environment guidelines.
  • Managed the campus drawing archive as well as the Archibus database.
  • Spearheaded a Lean Project to digitize campus drawings archives and O&M libraries allowing staff to maintain the facilities more efficiently while preserving valuable state assets.

  • Managed a project to find and eliminate leaks in the Pueblo Regional Center pool. Researched solutions and directed Facilities Maintenance Staff to modify an industry tool to coat and seal the inside of the leaking pool gutter, saving the State $34,600 by avoiding costly contractor repairs in addition to water loss savings.
  • Sat on the Architectural Review Panel for a Suicide Risk Mitigation Project, an $18 million project to analyze patient living environments to mitigate potential suicide risks.
