- Install 2,000 feet of new (10") high pressure steam & (6") pumped condensate return piping system for the VA Hospital in West Los Angeles (Wilshire Blvd.) to re-route old steam system to make way for Metro Purple Line subway train station. This project includes (2) existing steam vaults, (2) new steam vaults, (4) new underground steam tunnels, (4) new steam traps and new underground steam/condensate piping for by-pass and expansion.
- Made sure that qualifying pipe welders were able to pass 100 percent X-ray which was required in job specifications.
- Coordinate with crane operator (Becho Inc.) to assure that everyone who was involved with crane picks were qualified, so that piping was installed in safe and productive manner.
- Follow safe work practices, which included fall protection and personal protective equipment.
- Perform tests to check quality of pipe and piping systems and make adjustments as necessary.
- Threaded pipes using piping machines.
- Fabricate and install screw pipe, socket weld pipe and stainless-steel tubing.
