• MIDNIGHT SHIFT COMMANDER
• Supervise approximately 34 deputies, 7 sergeants, 1 dispatch supervisor, 60 correctional deputies, 15 dispatchers and over 1200 inmates.
• Defined as making sure the work is done according to policy and procedures, taking appropriate disciplinary action, recommending personnel for appropriate recognition, emphasizing the Core Values and Mission Statement, interpreting policy and maintaining high morale
• Review performance evaluations for personnel

• Supervise training of new command staff and FTO training of new deputies.

• Liaison between the City of Mt Clemens and the Sheriff’s Office
• Attend meetings with City officials to include the Mayor, City Manager, Clerk and the City Council
• Generate operational plans for special events held within the city and coordinate with City and County officials.

• Facilitate the move of Sheriff’s Dispatch Center from the main office to the newly constructed COMTEC Center
• Worked in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Management to design and implement security protocols to include cameras (interior and exterior), swipe card access system, background checks on employees and vendors
• Attended numerous meetings with vendors and departmental supervisors to address security concerns and fluid 911 operations, the CAD dispatch system and the introduction of a new CAD software program (New World Systems).
• After successful relocation of dispatch, I supervised 15 dispatchers on afternoon shift and was responsible for their scheduling, training and job performance.

• Wrote investigative reports and referred cases to the Prosecutor’s Office for charging

• Conducted interrogation of suspects, interviews of witnesses and obtained statements
• Coordinated efforts with local, state and federal agencies.
• Assumed command of the scene and directed deputies

Assisted in team operations as a member of the 127th Security Forces Squadron from 1980 to 1990. Supported leadership development by serving as squad leader for an 11-member team. Participated in training deployments and contributed to mission planning and execution. Maintained operational security through continuous training. Held a secret security clearance throughout enlistment. Engaged in intelligence gathering and psychological warfare training. Completed ongoing training in weapons and vehicle systems, maintaining proficiency. Upheld military bearing and adhered to established protocols and procedures.
