As a prior Logistics Planner in the USAF, I spent 12 years inputting, validating, and presenting air transportation information for deploying service members. Additionally, 4 years were dedicated to planning all travel-related needs for special forces exercises in the Pacific theater of operations. Those years of service gave me experience managing large databases and spreadsheets detailing routing, timing, and special travel requirements for personnel. While planning exercises, I also created and distributed itineraries, hotel bookings, vehicle reservations, small acquisition needs, sustainment requirements such as food and water services.
For the final 5 years of my career, I managed a team of fellow planners for Grand Forks AFB where I developed automated tools for comparing, validating, and highlighting differences between multiple spreadsheets. This included live-linked graphics, maps, and timelines that reported current and future air transportation stops.
As part of my career, I deployed to the Central Command (CENTCOM) Deployment Distribution Operations Center (CDDOC) at Camp Arifjan in Kuwait. There I managed theater transport reservations for all CENTCOM deployed personnel and cargo. That work included providing cargo, passport, and visa information to embassies in order to complete entry requirements.
