Stamping Quality Manager

  • Responsible to regularly monitor and improve the quality systems within the Stamping production process
  • This includes the adherence to corporate process control plans
  • I also work with vendors to ensure they provide material that conforms to our quality specifications and hold them accountable for cost recoveries if they do not adhere to our requirements
  • Responsible for responding to quality issues found outside the department and implementing containment and corrective actions
  • Conduct a weekly 5F quality meeting to review our top-quality challenges and implement performance improving countermeasures
  • This involves coordinating and leading a cross functional team to develop and implement corrective actions
  • While in this position I worked with the launch team to coordinate the launch of new vehicle parts in Stamping from approving performance at different stages of the launch to containment and batch and hold during SORP
  • Filled the position of 7000 account lead
  • This involves tracking scrap performance, attending the 7000 account meetings, and implementing countermeasures to improve Stamping department scrap performance

Department Planner

  • Performed all functions of the Department Planner for the Material Department
  • Responsible for the attainment of the department budgets for the 2000, 3000, 5000, and 7000 accounts by attending the account meetings and implementing cost initiatives
  • Made significant improvements towards making budgets in all accounts from 2018 to present
  • Have represented the Material department in all GMS Basketweave teams at different times
  • Currently sit on SLT and PI basketweave teams
  • Filled the role of Plant Dangerous goods SME
  • While in this role was responsible for the shipping of dangerous goods as well as coordinating training and conducting weekly inbound audits
  • While in the position of DG SME the plant had one of the highest Dangerous Goods GMAS audit scores in General Motors for 2017
  • Perform annual dangerous goods assessments for the Fairfax Plant
  • Filled the role of the GMS IT for the Material Department
  • Was part of the GMS IT team when the plant attained BIQ IV in 2017 and recertification in 2019
  • Conducted regular GMS audits within the department reviewing both BPD boards and WPO in each group
  • Our Department average GMS Layered Audit score for 2018 was 2.2 and have been recognized as the top department in Layered Audit performance throughout 2019
  • Oversaw all scrap activities as the Plant Scrap/RSCM SME
  • Responsible to maintain integrity in the plant’s scrap system for access and charges while working with all departments
  • Also, regularly attended and occasionally ran 7000 account meetings
  • Sat on the plant’s PIV committee
  • Attended Planner meetings, SOT’s, Job Change Meetings, and Job Change Audits
  • Received PFEMA training and acted as the department PFEMA coordinator
  • Regularly attended all ISO meetings and led the department’s efforts in preparing for ISO audits
  • We had no findings in the ISO audits for 2017, 2018, and 2019

  • Regularly run GCA Audit meetings for the plant on 3rd shift as well as report out the quality performance for the plant in the Plant Ops meetings
  • While on 1st shift I fulfill GMS IT responsibilities by attending weekly meetings, overseeing Team Leader Qualification to GMS standards, layered audit preparation, and meeting of BIQ 4 requirements

  • Worked directly with IE, Corporate Labor Relations, the Local UAW, and Plant Leadership to ensure that the plant maintained the correct number of hourly personnel
  • This included the movement of hundreds of hourly employees both in and out of the plant as well as the hiring of new temporary employees
  • Regularly ran the plant manpower meeting to coordinate the movement of personnel across the departments
  • Worked directly with the State of Kansas to coordinate layoffs of hourly personnel
  • Regularly worked with Sedgwick to monitor sick leave violations as well as the administration of FMLA
  • Participated in Local Negotiations
