I began a career in masonry after graduating high school in 1976. I apprenticed under two different masons for two years and began contracting work in 1978 at 19 years old. Jobs included laying brick, block, stone, building fireplaces and chimneys and pouring concrete. In 1996 I took a job running a masonry crew for Commonwealth Building and Construction. This company did commercial jobs with a crew of 8-10 workers.

20 Years 8 MonthsI taught a masonry class in a prison. This job included managing 15 students in a restrictive environment. Job duties included:
Closely following DOC policy and procedure.
Insuring all students were present and if not locating them
Classroom work consisting of creating and updating lesson plans
Supervising all shop projects (and there were many)
Teaching 10 hour OSHA Construction and Industrial classes.
Maintaining CPR and first aid certification.
Preforming live works projects when available.
