  • Currently Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3) Test Lead for Presidential Aircraft Program
  • Subject Matter Expert for all testing related to Military Standard 464D which encompasses Intrasystem Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC), External RF EME, Precipitation Static, Lightning, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD), Emission Control (EMCON) and Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP) testing
  • Responsible for attending all meetings associated with upgrades/installations to aircraft, determining type of tests required, procuring funding, coordinating and planning test events, building test teams from a pool of qualified technicians/engineers, scheduling all facilities, writing detailed test plans, conducting all test events and writing deficiency reports and final reports of test results
  • Strong knowledge of fight and mission critical systems to include radio and navigation system avionics for the following helicopter and fixed wing aircraft platforms: VH-92A, VH-3D, VH-60N, UH-60N, C-17, KC-130, E-2, E-6, KC-46, E-4, CH-148 as well as several civilian aircraft.
  • Trained test pilots to conduct EMC Safety of Flight tests as well as mentoring new E3 employees on test equipment and branch guidelines to promote productive and high-quality work.
  • Make recommendations and when requested brief customer's senior leadership for corrective actions that may include frequency management, improving installation techniques and repositioning equipment and/or antennas.

Senior EMC Test Technician

  • Responsible for all facets of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing at NAWCAD, Patuxent River, MD
  • This encompassed pre-test planning which included generating cost estimates, writing test plans, and attending and conducting test plan review meetings
  • Provided technical support both as lead and assist roles for Intrasystem EMC, External RF EME, Precipitation Static, Electrostatic Discharge, Emission Control and Electromagnetic Pulse testing on a variety of aircraft, which included; P-3, EP-3, VP-3, C-130, HC-130, KC-130F, KC-130T, C-2, E-2, S-3, ES-3, T-34, E-6, C-17, C-40, OH-58, SH-70 and AH-64
  • Compiled and analyzed data after completion of tests and delivered final test reports to the customer
  • In addition, was responsible for conducting Safety of Flight tests on many of the aircraft listed above
  • This consisted of testing aircraft, with engines running, to ensure new installations did not interfere with flight essential avionics and equipment
  • I was also the training coordinator for all Veridian EMC employees
  • This duty required me to ensure each employee was certified in specific areas which included CPR, first aid, all pertinent GSE equipment (NC-10, MMG-1A, A/M32C-17, A/M32C-21, A/M42M-2&2A), COMSEC, RADHAZ, and all safety related courses
  • I also maintained/updated training jackets for each individual
  • Previously responsible for the EMC test equipment lab
  • Consisted of ensuring proper calibration and operability of all EMC related test equipment and related accessories
