Summary

After beginning my career as a construction litigator in West Palm Beach, Florida, I have been a sole practitioner in Morganton, North Carolina. With over 31 years of experience in District and Superior courts, I have represented clients in cases involving complex construction disputes, capital murder and all types of criminal defense, family law (i.e.,. Divorce, child custody and support, alimony, equitable distribution, and general civil litigation. Over the past 16 years, while still operating a full-service litigation practice, I also serve as a court-appointed and privately selected mediator in family financial disputes. My success in that area has been in identifying key facts and issues to resolve, forcing litigants to think critically about their own positions while recognizing and evaluating the strenghts and weaknesses of each position, and in helping litigants work through a cost-benefit analysis to litigation.
