Job overview
I was with the father for two weeks while he was home on hospice. Then two years later the family called me back to provide care and companionship for their mother during the day. Assist her with getting ready, bath and dressing if she wants, fix her breakfast and lunch. Monitor her condition and inform sons it need arises. Provide her with lots of TLC. We look thru the newspaper and discuss items that are interesting to her.

I worked originally with the father closely and monitored mother. With the father I got him up bathed and dressed for the day. Assisted with breakfast and lunch. Assisted with bathroom trips. Returned in the evening. Assisted with dinner. Cleaned and dressed for bed. Watched tv with the couple til the father was ready for bed. Assisted him to bed. Cared for the father til he went to hospital, nursing home and then to a hospice. At one point in time I provided care for both parents. I cared for the mother as her conditioned required. Got her up, showered and dressed for the day. Assisted her with all three meals. Took her to scheduled appts, General Dt, Eye Dt., Dentist and hair dressers. We ate out for lunch at times, shopped for groceries, light house cleaning, washed clothes, yard work, took her to church events and to visit with friends. Toward the end I was with her 24/7. Gave her lots of TLC.

Job overview
I worked in the rehab part of this facility mainly on weekends. When I did PRN it was usually in the LTC part of the facility. Providing care per the Dt's orders. Monitored condition, lab results, wound care, meds, monitored meal percentages, supervised CNA's and educated resident/rehab patient and or family. As a floor nurse in a busy facility near teaching hospitals I was able to use my skills and develop new skills. Also did plenty of admits and discharges.

My main station was in the Rehab Part of the facility. When needed I worked in the LTC Part. Provided Dt ordered care. Monitored vital signs, weights and lab values, supervised CNA's and followed the rehab patients progress.
