- I will be working alongside a graduate student to help assist research on the impact of Piezo1 on cholesterol levels in human stem cells.
For this project I will assist with optimizing the total cell count of our samples using the Biotek
Cytation 5. Additionally, I will assist with preparation of the samples including live staining with Hoechst 33342 and carry out the ProMega Cholesterol-Glo Assay to measure cholesterol levels in cells. If human neural stem cells show a decrease in cellular cholesterol levels, I will conduct follow-up experiments to continue in exploring the link between Piezo1 and cholesterol. - Conducted literature reviews to support ongoing research projects in environmental science.
