Summary

I maintain a caseload of 15 to 30 students identified as Developmentally Delayed, Autism, Traumatic Brain Injury, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, ADHD, and Specific Learning Disabilities. Maintains knowledge of trends in educating children with disabilities and the law governing that area

I manage and oversee 3 to 4 Para-Professionals each year who work with students identified with emotional disabilities or behavior disorders.

I have had training in CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention with annual recertification.

I am on the MHIT-mental health intervention team with okaware-Oklahoma State department of Education, Project Aware. Beginning, Sept. 2018, with many hours of professional development such as Bridges To Hope: Teaching in the Shadows of Trauma, Trauma Informed Classroom training- 13 hours in July 2020.

I am trained in PAX Good Behavior Game, and use it along with Love and Logic, and a Token Economy System for classroom management.

I am a certified Trauma Informed Yoga instructor for Youth, through Yoga Ed., July 23, 2021. I teach each student at Highland Park Elementary School yoga and mindfulness techniques in a 30 minute yoga class.

I have had extensive training on Functional Behavior Assessments and writing Behavior Intervention Plans through Dr. Laura Riffel, Ph.D, Behavior Specialist in 2007 and 2008.
