Lian Chen

Before 2016 I have always lived in China. There, I had three years of experience at a bilingual school; then dived into the field of law as a lawyer for ten years. In May of 2016, our whole family immigrated to the United States, it has almost been 6 years. During this period I studied the English language and child development at both Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College. But the pandemic hit us like a monstrous flood, I haven't found a job for the last 2 years until recently, the Guidepost Montessori at Las Flores employed me in the September of 2021. So far I have had a great time working there, gaining lots of experience in the field I studied in the colleges.

I am very attracted to your values as a school, especially the 'Balance and Breadth'. This perfectly matches my values. For this reason, I am a strong interest in this opportunity as a Lower School Co-teacher. I am a master at organizational skills, for I'm a mother of a son. I can also be a strong leader due to my experience as the lead lawyer at my firm. All my skills are crucial to a lower school classroom. Not only can I benefit the classroom, I think that the classroom will give me a chance to enhance my expertise as an educator and mold me to become a better human being by learning to care for other people. Also, my son is currently attending SMES since 2018, he is now in 7th grade. I have gained tons of information about the institution. I really hope that I can join the community.
